So sad to advise our community that Emily the Emu was hit by a car today on South Road and passed away a short time later. Thank you so much to all those who came to help. Those who stopped traffic and stayed with her, the officer from SAPOL and to SKER who took her to care for her. She passed away soon after they picked her up from the scene of the accident. There was no Emu like Emily who loved people and brought so much pleasure to us all.
